Smoke Sauna

The chimney-less smoke sauna is a firm favourite at Inkala Manor. Most of our overnight conference guests want to enjoy the soft heat of the sauna. The smoke sauna and the adjoining sauna cabin can also be rented out for private events and small meetings.

"The Inkala Manor smoke sauna takes about five hours to heat up. After that, it takes about three hours of throwing water onto the stones to make enough steam to get rid of the smoke and acrid smells" explains Inkala Manor hostess Leila Ylitalo.

Outside the smoke sauna, there is a terrace overlooking the beautiful lake Alajärvi. There is also a small pier, where it's nice to jump in the cool water. The beach around the pier is safe for children.

Next to the smoke sauna we also have a regular wood-burning sauna. The sauna cabin also has a cosy soapstone stove.

The sauna cabin also has a spacious terrace with a gas barbecue, where you can grill, relax and enjoy the company.

"Good smoke saunas are rare. Inkala has an excellent smoke sauna; it's large, while still being cosy" acclaims Kyösti Lassila, a regular guest at Inkala Manor.

You are most welcome to come and enjoy the lakefront saunas at Inkala Manor!

  • The stove has around 1500 - 2000 kilograms of piled stones.
  • Heating up the smoke sauna takes up to five hours, after which it takes three hours of steaming up to clear the air.
