Local Grown Food

Inkala Manor kitchen receives praise year after year – and no wonder, since we put love into every meal we make.

"We use the finest available ingredients in our country kitchen. Our goal is to offer our customers culinary experiences that they are not going to forget. Our philosophy is based on following old manor recipes, while taking into consideration modern tastes and standards for healthy eating." says Inkala Manor hostess Leila Ylitalo.

Besides quality, we appreciate ingredients that are locally produced. We know all the ingredients, and where they've come from, which helps us make our meals environmentally friendly, unique and delicious.

Some of Inkala Manor locally produced ingredients include:

  • Berries from the manor's own bushes, such as blackcurrants, redcurrants and gooseberries.
  • Apples from the manor orchards: the white transparent, common apple, Finnish Jaspi and Crimson Beauty.
  • Herbs from the manor garden, including rosemary, thyme, balm mint, basil, chives and mint.

  • Lovage and rhubarb from the manor garden.

  • Local strawberries.
  • Honey and northern highbush blueberries from Kuhmoinen.
  • Local forest berries and mushrooms, such as boletes, chanterelles and yellowfoots.
  • Local fish, crayfish and game.
  • Siimola farm Eastern Finncattle beef from the village of Hyrvälä.
  • Natural products, such as fresh grown spruce needles, dandelions, nettles, willowherb, cress flowers and viola.

"The food is so delicious! The meals are very good from a nutritional perspective as well: there's fish, meat, vegetables, potatoes and home-made bread; and everything is either lactose-free or low in lactose."

"You can't get food like this at home! Light enough, but still very tasty. The mushroom salad was the best. "
